Meet Dr. David Lieberman

Dr. David Lieberman is a double board-certified, fellowship-trained surgeon specializing in facial plastic surgery and hair restoration in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is certified by both the American Board of Head and Neck Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Lieberman began his hair restoration practice under the guidance of world-renowned hair transplant surgeon Dr. Vito C. Quatela, a past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Upon completion of his training, he was awarded the Jack R. Anderson Prize for Scholastic Excellence after achieving the highest score in the country on the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery examination. Dr. Lieberman has continued to advance his own understanding of hair loss and restoration and to offer the latest techniques in hair transplant surgery at the practice in Palo Alto and San Jose.

Education is top priority for Dr. Lieberman. He studied neuroscience at Stanford University and graduated with honors. He began his medical education at Cornell Medical College, where he was awarded several academic distinctions, including the school’s top prize given to the three top performers throughout medical school. For his academic achievement, he was inducted early into the Alpha Omega honor society. Dr. Lieberman’s academic achievements led him back to Stanford University for surgical training in the highly competitive field of head and neck surgery. Through his experience and mentorship at Stanford, he chose to pursue a career dedicated to the cosmetic and reconstructive enhancement of the face.

Following residency, he was accepted into one of the top fellowships in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and hair restoration with Dr. Vito C. Quatela. He received extensive training in facial plastic surgery and hair restoration, including the full spectrum of hair loss presentations and treatment options. At that time, the primary method of hair restoration was Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT), or the “strip” technique. Under Dr. Quatela’s guidance, he became expert in the nuances of hair placement in order to achieve consistently natural and robust results. He has used these principles to develop the cutting edge Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) practice offered at the Lieberman & Parikh Center for Hair Restoration.

Why Two Surgeons Are Better Than One

“We use each other as a sounding board in every procedure which creates a confidence level that every step is the best possible decision for the patient.”
